Second
- Advertise
on LetaLife
The next thing to do is to put your
own Room/Property
Wanted advert
on the page for the area
in which you are looking. Landlords, agents
and sharers often look on our pages before placing
their available property adverts so it is a
good way to get people to contact you with suitable
vacancies.
You
can either place a free advert or pay £10 for a standard one. Whe you
get to the advert
submission page it will explain the differences
so you can make the right choice for your
own circumstances.
LetaLife gets around
2 million people a year on the website so it
is a good way to make sure your advert gets
seen.
If you choose the £10 advert option the
payment process is dealt with entirely by WorldPay
which is a part of the Royal
Bank of Scotland Group It is securely handled
by the WorldPay system and we don't see any
of your payment details. Your security is important
to us.
Third
- Contact your local Letting Agent
Once
you have checked out our property letting adverts,
placed your own 'Wanted' advert you may wish
to contact local letting agents to ask them
to keep an eye out for suitable property.
LetaLife
has a
List of letting agents which also covers
the same range as the letting adverts pages.
If
you contact a letting agent through our pages,
please tell them you found them on LetaLife.
Letalife
Registered Letting Agent
A
LetaLife Registered Letting Agent is in no way
regulated or in affiliation with LetaLife. They
have however paid the current listing fee to
appear in a specific position on our pages.
Registered letting agents appear on our letting
agent directory town pages in a blue edged dark
yellow box and have some extra facilities for
our visitors' added convenience. For example
a registered LetaLife Letting Agent has a page,
where they can give you more information about
themselves - such as whether they are members
of professional associations and schemes (such
as ARLA,
NAEA, RICS,
NALS
etc) and a map to help you find the letting
agents offices. Here is some more information
about the
various professional bodies to which letting
agents can belong.
We are not dependent on fees from agency listings,
the agency directory is an extra resource for
our visitors - and one which we try to provide
at the highest possible quality. The fee being
the first and minimal level of filtering to
ensure this objective.
Putting
it bluntly, the charge for a letting agent registering
on LetaLife is simply a method by which we are
able to engage in a financial transaction with
our registered agents. This enables us to confirm
they are at least financially viable to a point
where they can cover what we feel is a minimal
cost. It also enables us to confirm identity
and location, and that provides us with the
minimum assurance we are prepared to give our
website visitor as to the bona fides of our
registered agents.
An agent who
has not paid to be registered appears in a pale
yellow box below the registered agents. We are
unable to give any assurances regarding these
agents.
The LAPS system explained
As part of our commitment to your security and
privacy, we provide each advertiser with a free
virtual telephone number which will be published
with your advert. This is called the LAPS number
- the LetaLife Advertisers Privacy Service number.
The provision of this service is entirely free
of cost to the advertiser.
When someone with a vacancy sees your Accommodation
'Wanted' advert, they call your LAPS number.
This then causes your phone to ring. The caller
does not see your 'real' phone number at any
time.
This
means that your privacy is protected and also
means that when the advert is no longer required
and is removed from our pages, the LAPS number
ceases to direct to your phone, and the calls
stop.

Finding a landlord
who is a member of an accredited scheme.
If you choose to rent from an accredited landlord,
the property should be in good condition and the tenancy
should be managed to a high standard. These are usually
run by local councils. Find
your local council contact details here.
